Couples

Couple counselling which is also referred to as relationship or marriage counselling.
This approach is useful when communication has broken down between partners and there is the feeling of not being valued, cared for, heard or listened to.

There are many reasons for relationship breakdown, the feeling of being stuck, trapped, hopelessness, helplessness,  depression, bereavement, work stresses, disagreements on parenting styles or others.

A consultation appointment is offered initially. During this session of 50 mins each person has the opportunity to present their point of view and from this the therapist will facilitate to find common goals and a way forward. Brief therapy of six sessions is recommended for couples work.

Couples Counselling

Couple counselling is brief and solution focused.

Groups

Group counselling can offer a unique environment in which to learn about and experience both self and others. We all live in groups for much of our lives in the form of family dynamics which are re-enacted in relationships at school, in higher education, at work and in social situations. Working together with others in a group can provide valuable insights into characteristic patterns of thinking and relating that have become unhelpful to us and that we want to change.

Groups work well with people who have experienced:

Bereavement/loss
Separation/Divorce
Eating issues
Anxiety
Depression
Stress
Dependency Issues
Difficulties in the workplace

Therapeutic group space is also an invaluable resource for Continuing Professional Development for therapists and a range of professions. If you would like to be added to a waiting list for this kind of group please contact us via the enquiry form on our website.
